The Law Of Attraction

Filed Under (21st Birthday Party, Blog News, JY Chia, Updates) by JY Chia on 13-03-2008

I first officially learned about the law of attraction
from watching The Secret.

After watching it, it actually makes perfect sense
why things happens.

I manage to find a youtube video on the
first 20 minutes of the movie.

Okay..I wanted to share with you that I
have found and bought the book:
“The Psychology Of Persuasion” By
Robert B.Cialdini =)

What’s the link with the law of attraction?

I am not sure if it is coincidence or what, but
a few days back, if you did notice that I put up
a graphic ecover of the book under my wish list.

Tadaa…I was at Bugis with my monsters “gang”
and my brother when we popped by Kinokuniya.

Anyway to cut the long story short…

3 books left, I am one of the lucky one =)

The Law Of Attraction at work?

I believe so =)

R.S.V.P Means >>

Filed Under (21st Birthday Party, Blog News, JY Chia, Updates) by JY Chia on 11-03-2008

Okay I have been asked many times…

“What do you mean by RSVP?”

I did my homework and found out this =)

From French, répondez (“‘answer’”) s’il vous plaît (“‘please’”).

To respond to an invitation, usually to indicate that one will be
coming to the corresponding event.

And I have made a mistake,”Generally one rsvps to invitations
and rsvps for events, as in the example sentences provided.

A very common mistake is to use the wording “Please RSVP”, which is
redundant since SVP stands for “please”.

An RSVP regrets only means that the sender will assume the invited
people will come unless they reply.”

Alright, a lesson to be learnt, and I hope
you learn something too if you do not already know.

Please reply once you get the card =)

My Take On Turning 21 Years Old

Filed Under (21st Birthday Party, Blog News, JY Chia, Updates) by JY Chia on 03-03-2008

As you know that I am turning 21 years old soon,
ohh…is that old or young?

Hahaha…I am excited to be reaching this milestone
in less then 2 months time.

My take on turning 21: EXCITING!

Many says that it is stepping into adulthood,
but if you are living in the 21st century, you
may or may not agree with that.

Personally I feel that it is not exactly true,
looking at my little cousins in primary school.

Gosh! I think they are so much more mature
as compared to my primary school years.

Never mind about the age, it is just a number,
I am grateful that in Singapore, the tradition of
celebrating your 21 years old birthday is still kept.

I am not generalising across the nation, but for
most of my friends turning 21 this year, I must say
that I have attended many of their 21st birthday
parties.

Of course there are some who opts for the low key,
small cozy gatherings and some who have huge
throng of crowds at homes or chalets.

I think it is a personal choice. It is your 21 anyway.
And you only live to be 21 once.

For me, I love and respect my family and friends and
know that on the day of celebration, I need to at least
have some adequate time to talk to them, to thank them
for taking their precious time off to celebrate this milestone
with me.

And the reason why I chose home because “no place is better
then home!”

Alright cut your thoughts that I am a “homely person”,true to
a great extend but more importantly, over the past few months
I have been scouting for venues to host the party and well I did
find some cosy areas but the catering of food got to be in house
which mostly you know, the food doesn’t taste fantastic and
your decorations has to be kept within their commandments.

Rules and regulations blah blah blah and you have to pay extra if
you are bringing anything extra, did I say vodka? singapore sling?

Erm…Haha..You know I only drink breezer..haha..But I
do know some of my friends do drink =)

Back to the point, I am celebrating my birthday at home
and I am very happy with the idea and I sincerely hope
if you receive an invitation, I would appreciate your
attendance!

And I know the customary of guest not eating at parties,
okay I am a culprit too..haha..

What Is Your Favourite Caterer?
I have got a few on the list, one of which is botak
jones, Ivins, elsie.

Do you have any contacts of caterers that you think
that the food is superb?

Would appreciate if you can drop me the contacts =)

Come and eat and be jolly!

Oh gosh I am so going to look for kind sponsors for this event!

Anyone would like to sponsor a cash voucher for
my 21st birthday party? Oops…..I am too excited!

That’s about it for now, talk to you soon!

Thank You For Your Gifts! What To Get For You?

Filed Under (21st Birthday Party, Blog News, JY Chia, Sponsorship, Updates) by JY Chia on 28-02-2008

Thank You For Sharing This Gift!

Recently my close buddies has been asking
what present do I want for my 21st.

I haven’t give them a proper answer till date.

They knew that I am a books person, internet
person, electronics person in terms of laptop and
cameras, and steamboat person.

So I thought I will come up with a wishlist,
I think it will help facilitate some of your buying decisions.

I used to have this challenge of getting the near
perfect gift for my friend’s birthday party. Do you?

Unless you are really close to your friend, you would
have a roller coaster time deciding on what to get
for your friend.

And if you are close, it will be even a greater challenge to
get a gift to surprise your buddy.

“Ask and you shall receive!”

So, I will be putting up my 21st birthday wishlist
on the right side bar within the next few days so
you can have roughly a guide to solve your frustration
in choosing a gift for yours truly =)

I like to touch a point of giving cash or in chinese
terms, the red packet and what is my take to it.

I have always thought that giving money outright
as a present is not quite sincere until recently I have
a paradigm shift on that.

Thoughts counts that’s one.

I was asking my friend what they are getting for
another friend, and they shared with me they are
giving the friend a piggy bank filled with dollar coins.

It did cross my mind that this is giving money, but
somehow or rather the “insincerity” did not pop in my
mind.

I thought that it is a very creative way in giving cash.

And my friends added that, you wouldn’t want to waste your
money in getting something that he or she may not need it.

That I do not totally agree, I still strongly believe in thoughts
that counts.

So here it is, I will be equally grateful if you getting a present
from my wishlist, you are giving me cash, you are giving me anything
that you think that will fit me. I LOVE YOU!

I am grateful that you are taking time out to do something
for me and that’s what matters most. Your presence matters
and your presents are a bonus!

Just come to the party in your beach tee and berms or shorts,
surf up! however you interprete it. Aloha!

Yes! This beach is kind of interesting on the 16th floor,
but just for the fun of it!

Oh, my friends who are overseas or even my dear readers,
if you would like to give cash the internet way, be a sponsor
of my 21st birthday party somehow with any amount…

It is possible now, just click on the button below:
