It was just a month back when I
was literally quarantined to stay
away from crowd, school, public.

Viral conjunctivitis is commonly known
as red eyes or sore eyes.

Sore Eye JY Halloween

This is me with conjunctivitis.
It sure is stinging pain!

And it can be spread by contact of fluids.

Eg. You touch your eyes that is infected
with viral conjunctivitis, and your friend
touches yours. Very likelihood that he/she
may be down with viral conjunctivitis.

What I am going to share with you, I got
it from a very kind doctor that gave me
some information on viral conjunctivitis and
I want to share with you here:

1. Consult your doctor is you have any symptoms
of conjunctivitis. He/She will make the diagnosis and rule
out more serious conditions.

Symptoms of viral conjunctivitis include:

- Tearing of one or both eyes
- Redness of one or both eyes
- Itchiness of one or both eyes
- Often have symptoms pf an upper respiratory
infection or cold (runny or blocked nose)
- Burning, itchy eyes with a heavy, sticky mucus discharge
may indicate bacterial conjunctivitis

2. Antibiotics DO NOT kill viruses. However
antibiotic eyedrops may help clear bacteria,
and prevent secondary bacterial infection of
a viral conjunctivitis.

3. DO NOT share towels, pillows or utensils

4. WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY, particularly after
washing your eyes.

5. Use tissues and dispose them afterwards.

6. DO NOT let anyone use your eyedrops or eye
medication. Throw them away when your treatment is finished.

7. DO NOT wear contact lens until symptoms have completely
gone, and for 24 hours after the last dose of any eyedrop or
ointment.

8. TRANSMITTED BY NASAL DROPLETS. Avoid crowds and
stay in your room as far as possible to avoid further transmission.

9. Check with your doctor again if your vision becomes affected,
if there is any eye pain, and symptoms do not settle after 2-3 days
of treatment.

Plus personal tips, use warm or cold compress if your feel
the burning sensation in your eyes, it helps.

Take it as a mini “hibernation” time out, because I felt that
sleeping helps for me.

Hope that you have learn something today =)

Take care!
