A PIE For You?

Filed Under (Blog News, JY Chia, Updates) by JY Chia on 31-03-2008

it just crossed my mind to share with you
this formula that I learned when I was
doing my nursing course in polytechnic.

It is termed: APIE

Assesment
Planning
Implementation
Evaluation

It is used in nursing processes and I think
it is relevant for our day to day functioning.

Hope you find it useful =)

Have You Been Donating?

Filed Under (Blog News, JY Chia, Updates) by JY Chia on 29-03-2008

This is a video created by an internet
friend, Roy. You can visit his blog at
www.RoyPhay.com

Watch it:

Instead of jars, I have 6 envelopes =)

And I have just donated slightly more then
$100.00 to a local charity =)

I think if it has not been this sharing, I wouldn’t
have had the discipline to do it!

Cheers! I hope you have learned something from
this video, because I certainly had =)

Filed Under (Blog News, JY Chia, Updates) by JY Chia on 27-03-2008

Yes! I bend them all myself =)

I learned the strategy from my
buddy Winnie, it is mind over
metal =)

Of course I heed her advice and visited
my coach, Rachit’s blog at
www.Rachit.org
where he reveals
the step by step guide you
can use to bend your own spoons too =)

WARNING: It can be addictive!

This was my first attempt =)

her synapse to stop me! hahahah =)

JY Bends Spoons

Easter Day Service At Riverlife

Filed Under (Blog News, JY Chia, Updates) by JY Chia on 25-03-2008

I was invited by my nursing friend
to her church’s special Easter Day
service the on the recent good
Friday.

Religion aside, i respect all religions.
Period.

I wanted to give a thumbs up up up
for the Drama called the Eternity.

Easter Day

I think the effect, sound and overall
transition from scene to scene
is remarkable.

And nurses roles are involved, so
naturally it made it more interesting
to watch.

And there is a scene where the doctor
reveals the laboratory findings to the
patient.

She must have studied therapeutic communication!

She performed all the solar:

S- Sitting squarely
O- Open gesture
L- Lean forward
A- Eye contact
R- Relax

Important skills for effective communication.

National University Of Singapore Nursing Buddies

I must say that I am very grateful for this bunch of friends at
NUS, even though I am exempted from quite a significant number
of modules in this first year of study, they have been ever receptive,
ever cheerful, ever welcoming and a great company to be with
whenever I am in school. Thanks folks!

Best Experiences With Great Nurses Buddies At NYP =)

I have always read in newspaper column interviewing
celebrities or guest speaker if given a chance what will
they want to change in their lives?

What will be your answer?

This will be mine:
“Absolutely NOTHING! Whatever has happened to me is a blessing
in a way or two, everything that happens is my teacher and I have
got a personal take to share with you and that is, to enjoy your
present each day! Read The Present! Because each day is a present,
each person you meet is a present.

You may not like everybody that you meet, but think about it, there are
billions and billions of people surviving on planet earth and you only have
the blessing to meet those thousands that has crossed your path.

Accept, be grateful and you will feel lighter! Smile!”

The Law Of Attraction

Filed Under (21st Birthday Party, Blog News, JY Chia, Updates) by JY Chia on 13-03-2008

I first officially learned about the law of attraction
from watching The Secret.

After watching it, it actually makes perfect sense
why things happens.

I manage to find a youtube video on the
first 20 minutes of the movie.

Okay..I wanted to share with you that I
have found and bought the book:
“The Psychology Of Persuasion” By
Robert B.Cialdini =)

What’s the link with the law of attraction?

I am not sure if it is coincidence or what, but
a few days back, if you did notice that I put up
a graphic ecover of the book under my wish list.

Tadaa…I was at Bugis with my monsters “gang”
and my brother when we popped by Kinokuniya.

Anyway to cut the long story short…

3 books left, I am one of the lucky one =)

The Law Of Attraction at work?

I believe so =)
