MY New Canon Camera =)

MY New Canon Camera!
Ixus 85 IS

I bought my new canon camera from
the recent PC Show.

It was a great deal bundled with
4G SD + 4G SD + 2G SD!

I am kind of SD cards overload now.

==================================
The holidays have officially kicked off
and I am loving it everyday!

These are what I have done thus far:

1. I have just finished reading
The Magic Of Thinking BIG By David J. Schwartz.

You MUST read it!

2. Packed my room =) It had a health brouchures
attack after the polyclinic attachment. And I am
preparing to decorate it with items from Bangkok.

[Yeah! I am going to Bangkok in about 2 weeks time]

3. Drawn up my holidays ACTION plan =)

==================================
Oh! And thank you to all buddies who gave me
Borders gift cards! I have put them into good use!
(haha if you get what I mean…)

Okay jokes aside, really would like to thank you
because I am currently devouring the essence of
FOUR books!
==================================
Alright that’s about it for now!

Cheers! JY Chia

Holidays Is IN! | What Happened In China | Smile!

Woohoo!

5 weeks of attachment is finally over.
And as you can see from the change in
my blog skin, the holidays are in!

I am clearly in a holiday mood =)

Exactly a month to Bangkok trip,
I am looking forward to it =)

What Happened In China

Aunt sent me an sms from China,
“So sorry, I left your camera in
Hungzhou, one of jiang river, because
I tripped slipped and camera dropped
into the jiang, so sorry….”

I seriously thought that it was a joke.

It is the truth.

Cried really hard. It was a gift that dad
bought for me, and the thing it was sentimental
because we went to buy it together.

I need to let go.
______________________________
Smile!

I am still feeling sore about the lost,
I am not angry with aunt because she
was hurt too.

I was just thinking.

I believe that somehow, the universe
aligns. I have decided to purchase the
Canon camera at the PC Show.

What a timing.

Nevertheless, I believe the smile will
come back and I know that dad wants
us to be happy.

By the way, “Daddy, wherever you are,
Happy Father’s Day!”

I will bounce back!

Exams Out! Attachment In =)

Wow! Exams are out and attachment is in!

I recall using this title previously too =)

I used to have attachment at Tan Tock Seng Hospital,
for a change this time round I am posted to
Singapore General Hospital.

Confession!

I believe my skills are rusty and it needs D40 to
polish it =) I believe that it is high time to polish
up the clinical skills not only for the attachment
but I think it is life skills too =)

I will be blogging when there is any interesting
to share because I will be busy with attachment
and internet business projects.

And I am growing horizontally!! Time to STRETCH
and play games! =) For me personally I enjoy sports
in teams as compared to individual running etc.

Oh and kick boxing sure does sweat you out!

Alright getting back to work and play, going to
pig aka sleep well to prepare for the upcoming
attachment.

I love you all and if you have any urgent matters
please email me directly or call or sms me.

That’s all for now, till the next post…

Oh and Happy Mothers’ Day in advance to
all mummies reading this blog and have
fun and go out and make a difference!

The Last Lecture + Updates!

FIRST…A quick update =)

1. Pharmacology is WOW!
Okay…pray for me yeah…

2. And I get a BIGGER WOW!
For no reason, I am having SORE EYES! Eewww!!!
And I am suspecting its the lab tables where we had
our pharmacology paper.

I know I should take responsibility for rubbing my eyes!
Booo…
But yes! I am officially down with SORE EYES and I rushed
down to a clinic after dinner and accompanied by my dearest
buddy down to a clinic that opens till 10pm!

So that’s taken care off, I am on eye drops etc.

3. The Last Lecture

I was first exposed to this as a 21st birthday present,
it is a book that I get from my good friends in secondary.

Lindsay, Karene & Hwee Teng.

I finished the book within 2 days.

It is a book about Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams…

NOW, you do not have to spend 2 days to read the book,
it certainly worth the time…If you MUST! If You still have
dreams that excites you or you need a reminder that life
is not only about work or study….

I want to share with you a youtube link that I found about
the actual lecture recored.

Here is Randy Pausch with the Last Lecture:
[Just for you to know that this is in deed THE Last Lecture
for this young professor because he is diagnosed with
Pancreatic Cancer and is told that there is only about 6 healthy
months to come...]

He is still alive! =)
Here is his blog >> http://download.srv.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/news/index.html

Oops =) Barcadi Coke Taste Good!

A few days back, small aunt took
my sis, big aunt, grandma and myself
to Long Beach at Raffles Hotel.

I think I must have bee living in ice
age or something…

My first time to Raffles Hotel, very colonial
feel and grandeur…

Anyway, the main purpose was to give a shot
at the alcohols. For good fun =)

My aunt shared with us that her first alcoholic
drink was Barcadi Coke…

So that was what I had:

Barcadi Coke
The transparent liquid on the left
is Barcadi and on the right is coke.

So what you have to do it mix
them together and stir it.

Nice =)

And we ordered a few other drinks…
which includes Singapore Sling, erm
and two others that I don’t remember
the names…mosquito sound alike..haha..

Drinks

Ohh…and this is one of the few places where
you openly litter the floors with the shells
of ground nuts which are served.

And one interesting lingo that I learned was
how the waiter will ask….

“Madam, would you like to keep the tap running
or close it?”

What he meant was, do you want to close the
bill now or have more drinks.

My aunt promptly handed her card over and
say to him to, “hold it”.

And she explained that this is to ensure that you
don’t run away without paying for your drinks.

Nice place, nice ambience, nice drinks… =)

Thanks aunt!

The Guy In The Glass

Enjoy the poem:

The Guy in the Glass
By Dale Wimbrow, (c) 1934

When you get what you want in your struggle for pelf,

And the world makes you King for a day,

Then go to the mirror and look at yourself,

And see what that guy has to say.

For it isn’t your Father, or Mother, or Wife,

Who judgement upon you must pass.

The feller whose verdict counts most in your life

Is the guy staring back from the glass.

He’s the feller to please, never mind all the rest,

For he’s with you clear up to the end,

And you’ve passed your most dangerous, difficult test

If the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may be like Jack Horner and “chisel” a plum,

And think you’re a wonderful guy,

But the man in the glass says you’re only a bum

If you can’t look him straight in the eye.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,

And get pats on the back as you pass,

But your final reward will be heartaches and tears

If you’ve cheated the guy in the glass.

This wonderdul poem can be found on >>
